I read this for the 2026 Sapphic Book Bingo reading challenge for the prompt Tattooed Main Character.
I had been wanting to reread this book for about a year now but it kept getting shuffled to the bottom of the pile for other books. When I saw the audiobook I snatched it up then remembered it would fill a prompt. So yay two excuses to read it!
Quick Thoughts:
– Not only does this fill the Tattooed MC prompt but also the Supportive Ex prompt
– Single parent and fake dating! This book was absolutely my jam
– I ADORED Andi’s character arc and how this situation she found herself in didn’t magically or suddenly cure her aversion to kids
– Andi’s big heart was on full display with the whole situation and she was truly willing to do whatever she could to keep Sarah and Noa together
– Loved how everyone learns from each other in different ways and develops their own connections to each other and as a family
– There is something special about books that don’t immediately have the MCs on the same page relationship wise the second after admitting to liking each other. I like that they still had to talk and figure things out how things would look between them from that point forward considering their unusual circumstances. Andi wasn’t the only one needing to work through things
– I really love that epilogue. I thought it was a perfect ending to this family’s journey
– This book would have gotten a full star alone just for how Cheyenne Blue doesn’t end the story arc concerning the grandparents with puppies and rainbows and everything is perfect between everyone. There are consequences to actions
– Cat Gould is a fantastic narrator and she is on my list of people that I will get a book just because she narrates it. She does a top notch job here, of course, and really added a fantastic element to a book I had already read
Overall I loved this book even more than the first time I read it. This is now going on my “I need to relax to an amazing book” list. I am not looking forward to reading the last couple of books I have by Cheyenne Blue because then I’ll be out of books by her and will have to wait for new releases. Drats.
