Description

Fresh out of a relationship, Shawnna Green is heartbroken, lost, and almost penniless. She decides to start over in New Orleans to find a new sense of self, despite her ex hampering her progress. With the help of her best friend, Veda, she finds employment at Stumpy’s Sex Emporium where she deals with customers that range from the strange to the hilarious.

At the same time, Shawnna discovers that women, sex, and dating, are not what they used to be, but neither is she. In finding herself, she uncovers a part she didn’t know existed, and that’s not always a good thing.

Can Shawnna pick herself up, reach out, and connect with the people around her?

A smoldering look at the things we hide from ourselves.

Pink was an amazing story, Shawn goes through a very bad break up and finding herself along the way. Uprooting herself and moving to New Orleans with her best friend Veda to start over. Working in a sex shop while looking for a better job and joining Tinder to have one night stands and loose herself just to find herself again on the right path.

Fan-freakn-tastic! Loved the humour, the raw grit, the angst of Shawn’s story. Hated the shit out of her by the mid-point, and envied her for having such a committed best friend. Thankfully, Shawna redeemed herself before I turned the last page.

This story comes (no pun intended) with a healthy dose of sexy time. Some scenes were explicit, yum, other were fade to black, pouts, but also fitting.

Shawn’s employment made for some entertaining scenes. The episodes with Debbie-bless her-were hilarious.

The ending…all I can say is, I hope there’s more to come.

I was little apprehensive about this book, only because it wasn’t a romance and I wasn’t sure if I could get into it because I as so accustomed to reading romance books. However this author does not disappoint. The most important thing I got from this book was growth. Learning how to move on from a break up, and finding yourself again. Shawn really goes through alot and was fun watching her go through everything and find true self again. This book was funny I like the personalities of the Shawn and Veda, there are some funny things that happen at the shop with the different types of customers that come in and some steamy sex scenes. Everyone should have a best friend like Veda. I hope to see a sequel with this book it was very good but I don’t want to give anything away. Definitely purchase it, you will not be disappointed.

I was given an ARC to give an honest review.

My favorite parts of this book were the goings on at the sex shop.Too funny but I could see them happening in real life.
Shawna is a work in progress. She went through some rough times. Her friend Veda lasted longer than I would have.

So I didn’t like Shawn, not because I couldn’t connect with the character but because I did and I didn’t like her the same way you don’t like some people in your life. She coped with her pain by mistreating other people, so it’s the kind of person I don’t like. Self pity has it’s limits and for someone being a mental health professional she should know better, which she did in the end and apologize to everyone else, but still I didn’t like her.

I loved the book and I love this author. Very well written, with interesting erotic scenes and hilarious stories from the sex shop. Oh sweet Debbie! LOL! All characters are very well written, with strong personalities. I wonder if there will be a sequel?

    Read it, it’s really good.

This is a very steamy novel! Very character driven, and they keep sucking the reader in, in fact I didn’t want to put it down! Everybody should have a Veda, she put up with a lot! It was good to see the main character grow and move past the really rough spots in her life, with the help of her best friend. If you love immersive, character driven books…this one’s for you. I hope the author writes a sequel, I’d be interested in knowing what happens to Shawn.

    Different and Delicious
I really, really enjoyed this book. It was like nothing Ive ever read before. This intense story is about Shawn, a woman who it trying to pick up the pieces of her life after breaking up with her long-term girlfriend. She lands with her BFF Veda in NOLA. There are so many sides to Shawn. Sometimes funny and quirky, sometimes evil, mean and cold and sometimes deeply depressed and lost until finally she manages to find her way out of the misery and pain. This story is so well written with a realness and truth emanating throughout.
Raw and gritty, sweet and steamy, bold and hopeful…it is just sooo good!! Although this story is very sexual, as in WOW and OMG!!!, it is not a romance but it does leave room open for love to bloom. I could go on and on about this tale and cannot wait for my friends to read it so I can do just that. VERY well done Ms. Williamson!!

KD Williamson has managed to write a thought-provoking story that went places I didn’t expect and made me question certain behaviours. Shawn was at a low point in her life after breaking up with her cheating ex and moving in with her old college friend Veda. With her help she gets a much needed job in a sex emporium and starts getting on with life. But how she does it doesn’t go in a straight line. She is so down and needs to feel good again, using sex as a way to get there. The sex was hot and varied and very well written. There was much about Shawn’s actions that I found very unappealing but it was such an integral part of the story. There was also a lot of humour, mostly from Shawn’s work in Stump’s sex shop. This added a welcome lightness at times and showed variety and depth.

I recommend this book as it wasn’t an easy read. People change and sometimes we really hate their behaviour but that doesn’t mean we give up on them. I left this book feeling that the journey was worth it . I ran through a gamet of emotions and realised I want more. I hope we hear more of Shawn in the future .

I was given this ARC by Ylva Publishing in return for an honest review.

I enjoyed reading this book more than I thought I would. Reading the blurb, it didn’t seem to be what I normally would read. However, I was glad I did. This book is funny, emotional, has it’s ups and downs, interesting characters and a good story line.
Shawnna gets a job and experiences an in your face workplace with crazy hilarious customers at Stumpy’s Sex Emporium that keep her (and the reader) entertained if not a little queasy!
Her home life is another story. Heartbroken and lost for sure, but this is a story that evolves along with Shawnna. Most of all I loved Shawnna’s BFF Veda. She is feisty and hilarious!
The ending left me hopefull and I felt that Shawnna had come full circle in her life and was ready to move onto the next phase of her life and those adventures awaiting her.
Give it a go, I’m glad I did!
I received an arc copy in exchange for an honest review.

Pink is K.D. Williamson’s second hit of 2017; she released her third book in her Cops and Docs Series, Between the Lines, in early March. I can easily say that both of these books are my favorites from her; K.D.’s writing continues to get better and better.

In Pink, Shawnna Green is heartbroken, lost, and jobless; she decides to leave Indianapolis after a painful breakup with her ex, Courtney and start over in New Orleans where her personal lifeline and best friend, Veda, lives. With the help of her best friend, Shawnna finds employment at Stumpy’s Sex Emporium where her daily work experiences with customers range from bizarre to downright hilarious.

Veda is resourceful and supportive; she’s the epitome of a best friend as Shawnna struggles to heal her heart, find herself anew and move on from her painful past. During this period, Shawnna continues to receive messages from Courtney making it more difficult for Shawnna to let go and live fully in the present. What happens next will send Shawnna into a downward spiral of lust, powerlessness, and the seductive and intoxicating embrace of 3 women. As Shawnna plummets to a new low, can she save herself and regain what matters most in her life?

Pink is a well-written, enthralling, deliciously seductive and steamy, heart grabber; I recommend it. K.D. Williamson is one of my favorite lesrom authors; she’s a fabulous writer and an awesome storyteller.

Shawn has moved to a different city after her girlfriend cheated on her. She stays with Veda, a friend everyone would want to have on their side.
Shawn is a social worker but, at the moment, she is working in a sex toy shop. To forget her cheating ex girlfriend and move on, she starts dating through a very popular app. But she doesn’t want to go back to typical dating, she wants and needs more than that. She goes from one woman to the next in the blink of an eye.
She loses herself in the turmoil and becomes someone she doesn’t even recognize almost losing her friend. And then, she meets Myka.
This book is very erotic where there is a lot of sex but I guess some people need this kind of experience to move on and become a better person.
From my point of view it’s not a typical romance but I still enjoyed the reading. Something different doesn’t have to be bad and this book is not, definitely, bad.
