Once again, an amazing book by one of my favorite authors. I even enjoyed Slammed and I don’t care for tennis.
Quick Thoughts:
– I love the fact that Lola Keeley sets her books all over the world. This one is set in Scotland
– This is basically an Enemies to Friends (very brief) to Lovers book
– Susannah is one of the those characters that are misunderstood as Evil but is actually a sweetheart (who can be bitchy when needed heh) who is trying to help and make a difference in her community
– The more I learned about Tess and what happened in London, the more I could relate to her
– A non-binary character yay! And they are a rockstar assistant to Susannah! I love badass assistants
– More than a few times I wanted to smack the crap out of Caroline
– Speaking about that idiot, great use of that character without it being obnoxious or overdone
– No third act break up!
– The ending fit perfectly, and while a little surprising, it didn’t come out of left field
Overall I loved this book. The setting, characters, and circumstances all work very well together. This is a slower paced book because of the setting but it doesn’t drag. Definitely check it out.
