Ok, I admit, I didn’t thought much when I read the short text of the content of the book. But really, OH MY GOODNESS…!!! I had to stop reading a few times because you know, something about ‘where’s my girlfriend’ or maybe better taking a very cold shower. AJ Schippers is creating scene after scene where you can almost feel the need of Julia to be with Alexandra. And now she made me even curious about that BDSM thing. This book is really fantastic, thank you.

    WOW! I finished it…….

I can’t seem to make my mind up over this book. Don’t get me wrong it’s good but it also seems unrealistic. It may not be, but I can’t get my head around it. Also it is very long. There is a lot of reading to be done. I hear you say but some books are long but this one actually feels never ending.

The two main characters are Julia and Alexandria. Julia is sent by her boss to Alexandra’s island for a well earned break and holiday. Alexandra is long time friends with Julia’s boss. Anyway cutting a long story short Alexandra is a Domme and falls in love with Julia. Julia also falls in love with Alexandra. The book takes you on a journey from someone with no BDSM experience into a full loving relationship.

Sometimes the story contradicted itself. When Julia arrived she was told she could not return to the mainland due to the storm season and no boats would run. Alexandra had visitors to the island, they made it by boat?!!

I guess this story really was not for me. I just found it really long. It is very well written and an excellent first book. I will definitely be looking out for this author in the future.

All cards on the table — I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed the multi-layered characters and the development of their relationship. Their trust in each other built slowly and, I thought, with some realistic bumps. They butted heads too, resulting in a concussion and a lot of talking. While I am not into BDSM, I checked with a friend who is very much a part of the lifestyle. She assured me that the scenes, and conversations that dealt with the lifestyle, were accurate. Safety in BDSM is stressed throughout the book, safe words, the traffic light system, and I was glad to see it. This tale was about far more than sex, but there are DEFINITELY steamy scenes! This story is all about letting down one’s guard, trust, communication and being willing to step away from being alone.
A very well written book, well edited and thoughtful. I enjoyed every word.

Wow I love it. I loved everything about this book. It’s a very well written and I loved the storyline. I loved how Alexandra takes it very very slow with Julia on all the BDSM stuff. It’s good to see that she checks in with Julia all the time when they play a scene. I loved that they communicate so must, there are many stories where you want to yell to the characters that they should talk to each other. The sex scenes was very very hot and steamy. The scenes was very well written and you could picture how it looked. In some books you have a hard time picturing how they can do all those things at ones without having an extra arm or hand. It was all in all a very good book. I can highly recommend it.
I brought this book after it was recommended by a friend.

Read this book in its original format on a fan fiction website, and it was amazing! From start to finish, the author takes you on a journey and watching their growth and love unfold was so beautiful. A fun, funny, read, full of emotion and kink.
