I love this book!!! It’s been a while that I have read a book that has held my attention from the first page but this book definitely has! I fell in love with both Olivia and Emily as they work out their differences. However Henry and his cuddly friend Tiny have my heart. It’s a wonderful story that will have you wanting more.

If you read and loved SQA016 then you are going to love the continuation of the story of Olivia, Emily and Henry! I really enjoyed continuing to watch Emily and Olivia learn how to communicate with each other and how Henry and Tiny helped. I like that these characters feel a little more real and that they have to do some work to get what they want out of their relationship. Again like with the first book I think that Henry and Tiny stole the show! I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a great read!

    Title: Grounded
    Author: A.E. Radley
    Pages: 357

This sequel was a long time comin’. Let me tell you! Radley’s first book in this series is titled “Flight SQA016”. You can read it here. I fell in love with characters in this book. I couldn’t wait to get my greedy hands on “Grounded” to see what happens to them. Radley did not disappoint.

When I started reading it, I realized how much I missed everyone. It was like seeing old friends for the first time in a long time. I can relate so much with Emily. She’s a single mom just trying to do her best for her kid even when the avalanche of life fast approaches. I understood how hard it could be to ask for help when you’ve been doing it all on your own for so long.

In this book, I was able to see the relationships of the all the characters deepen. I loved seeing the interactions between Emily and all of the people around her. I wanted to be best friends with Simon. Tom and Lucy were so very sweet.

I also couldn’t help but gush over her and Olivia’s relationship. They are very sweet to each other despite personality flaws of both women. I was able to feel how much they cared for each other. And as I said in my review for “SQA016”, I loved that the story was about their relationship and not about their sex life. I have a well-developed imagination. I don’t need someone telling me how to have amazing sex.

The interactions between Olivia and Henry were beyond adorable. I could really see how she cared for him as his own and he loved her so much.

I finished this book in a day because I had to know what was going to happen next. I needed to know that things were going to be ok.

If you like Lesbian Romance novels, you are going to LOVE this book. I highly recommend it.

I couldn’t wait anymore its finally 18 of January and right after midnight I had to buy my copy of Grounded!

    Why?

Because I needed to know how it is going on. We left Flight SQA016 with Olivia being over the top and nearly risking Emilys job after a fight about Henrys seating arrangement for his flight back to New York.

First let me tell you I never devoured a book this fast! It took me like 8 hours and cost me the night – but it was so worth it! I already loved the first book – I discovered it because it was a fanfiction and that’s what I like most about the Flight Serie, it’s a bit different than the original – especially not the second part it’s a complete new and independent storyline – but as a real Fan you find little hints with names, and places here and there that still make you smile and think about the fanfiction or the fandom itself. I really appreciate this because it’s what made the story famous.
But its nothing significant that it would make readers who don’t know about it wonder what it is about and I really loved that.

I really love the way A. E. Radley wrote this story, it combines everything as mentioned little hints to the Fans of the fanfiction but most important an amazing story, well written characters with deep emotions and their life becoming a rollercoaster. Emily who still wants to fight for herself but sometimes in-between she realized it is nice you have someone to relay on, who works her butt of to offer her son a nice life and in the end finally is not only the girlfriend of someone with money but her hard work pays of and she gets successful. Her way to get there is not so easy because she has to fight Henrys tantrums, his Ex´s parents who want to take Henry away from her and also a lot of ups and downs in her work life.

On the other side Olivia who works more and more on herself to understand why people maybe are taken back by her behavior. She let loose and nearly loses everything businesswise to win a life she wants to life for herself. This time she is sick and has to fight for herself and her business and after some rought path Emily is back in her life and by her sind. You see a progress during this part of the story and in the end she is not only part of Emilys life but also kind of a second mom to Henry.

What loved the most, the jokes there are so many parts where I just sat there and needed a minute to stop laughing about the AWESOME 5-years old Charm of Henry – usually together with Regina because of her personality she talks with the logic of a kid as well. Just PERFCT.
Of course we also meet characters again we loved at the first book. I was excited to see Simon is back again and get to know Olivias best Friend Nicole and Emilys best Friend Lucy a bit better.

I’m usually not the person who reads a book in one go and I really was sleepy after 3 hours reading but I couldn’t stop there was not a moment in this book where I had the feeling – okay its boring right now I can put it away. There was always something happening and I needed to go on to figure out what it is.
People who want to read Grounded but haven’t read Flight SQA016 I would recommend to read it first to understand all the background but all in all with the introduction and the way Radley wrote this story it could also stand as a independed book – you only wouldn’t get Olivias behavior I guess since this is well discusses in the first book.

All in all I can recommend this book a LOT. If you are looking for a interesting lovestory with a lot of stones in the way of the main protagonists this work is brilliant 😉

To say I waited with baited breath for the release of the second book of Radley’s flight series would be an underestimate. I was enthralled and even captivated by the first book of the series and could not wait to see the lives of Olivia, Emily & Henry finally unfold. Book two offers so much. Olivia, heart-broken, after her break-up with Emily finds herself on a new plane route to avoid the reminder of their brief, meaningful time together. Emily begins to settle back into her life with her son, Henry, inside the home of Tom & Lucy as she continues to dig out of excessive financial debt. An unexpected event puts them back into each other’s lives. This time Olivia must manage through a stressful, hostile work situation while Emily battles a desperate scenario against her ex’s parents’ plot to take her son from her. The experiences work to help them both understand each other more deeply and have the makings of bringing them together to claim a mutual long-term love. Radley is masterful at dialogue and uses the technique to help the reader understand the way all of the characters, incl the secondary ones, think and process. This inspires a deep connection between these characters and the reader. In fact, Henry is a standout perfect example of terrific characterization. The only downside to the entire book is that the author meticulously details all of the negative, disparaging events in the story but does not insert one love scene (unless you count one person unbuttoning 3 buttons) into the novel. It was more or less odd and left a near perfect book slightly bereft. For one to bring forth such mentally mature content (custody, break-ups, corporate politics, autism, debt, attraction etc) and then avoid demonstrating/ detailing the intense love & attraction between Olivia & Emily after two books worth of building tension… well, it was disappointing. That said, I give the book 5 stars on the merit of its potential and 4 to 4.5 on the basis on its current content. I recommend highly that you read both books in the series. Well spent time…

This is a wonderful romantic story. I love it when two very different people manage to find their way to one another. Throw in an adorable kid and I’m done for. The strength of this book is the characters, in particular a five year old boy who loves giraffes and Olivia, the woman he befriends. Olivia has some sort of social disorder and Radley has written her so well that you love her even as you cringe at some of the things she says. The relationship she and the boy strike up is poignant and beautiful. It is something that will stay with you long after you’ve finished the book.

Enjoyed this sequeal as much as I did the first book. A firm favourite. Just to have Emily and Olivia back again, although tense at times, devloping their relationship was intense yet satisfying all at the same time. Another great read that I would highly recommend!
