Firstly, let me point out that I love this author’s writing style. Her stories are full of passion, depth and energy. I have found you either love or hate her. Their is no middle ground to Glass especially in her books. This book is by far an easy read. It takes commitment but if you persevere I assure you that you won’t be disappointed.

The two main characters are Samantha aka Ann and Francesca. They have a history together attending the same school and being joint captains of their school swim team. Sam is now in London with her uncle Cort and Fran comes to stay before returning to the States to resume her education. Sam’s family is part of an ancient order that defends the light from the darkness. It is a highly skilled order which joins people together. The closer you are to someone the more connected you are. Often feeling them even with miles between them. Sam and Fran learn the ancient orders way which is highly skilled and rigorous.

The book takes us deep into the orders ways and it’s training of their blood lines. Both girls are being mentored by Sam’s uncle Cort and family friend Elizabeth. They have to pass levels before they can move on to the next stage. Also they have to be aware of those who would turn them to the dark. Also, for those interested the sex scenes are graphic.

Would I recommend this book? Yes without a doubt. Is this book for everyone? No. But if you are patient, believe in something more than this life then this is for you. This book introduces you to the unseen, the mystery and the goodness. They are not over powered by this ethereal world but encouraged to be young adults with exceptional awareness. To strive for something more.

My review does the book no justice. So please read make up your own mind. But most of all let the book engulf you. Enjoy!
