Author: JD Glass

After an unsatisfactory relationship, graphic novelist Zoe Glenn Edwards is determined to remain single. She is happily married to her work and plans on keeping it that way. Dion Richards is an author, trapped by ugly circumstance in a sham marriage. Her work is her escape.
Both are well respected in their individual fields. Their professional circles overlap. So do their sensibilities. A collaboration draws them into a fantastic working relationship and new friendship. Zoe is highly respectful of Dion’s circumstances, and Dion… she will do anything to keep those she loves safe from the threats hanging over her. What will these two “unavailables” do when they discover they’re unmistakably Drawn Together?

I received this ARC from Ylva Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I read from this author so I had no expectations about it. The story is intense and interesting but I was not fascinated by the way it was written. All the characters speak in the first person and it gets confusing and boring. I personally enjoy a simple clean reading always moving in one direction. So a story that goes back and forward is something I consider extremely annoying. I also struggled with the characters, specifically with Dion to whom I was not able to identify or empathize. I liked the villain Kerry, what a terrible person and I really hated her while I was reading the book, which is a plus since you’re supposed to feel something while reading. But the end was totally out of Kerry’s character. A person with her personality does not give up that easily. The story is very intense and addresses a real and serious problem, unfortunately the way it’s written makes the book annoying and boring. You lose sight of what the author is trying to tell you in the middle of trying to keep up who is speaking now.

In conclusion, a good story but not the best way to tell it and the end needs some work.

Drawn Together is an exceptionally written novel. It incorporates so many different issues which are handled with astutueness and compassion. It did hit a little close to home, but I found it both enlightening and strangely healing. The book takes controversial issues and challenges them ina good way. Increasing awareness in little known areas is a good thing, regardless. The best way for me to describe this book is to say in my personal opinion is that it was absolutely brilliant. It’s very very well wriiten and consider it a must read.

‘Drawn Together’ by JS Glass if fan-bloody-tastic!!! I started reading it this morning and couldn’t stop. The story of Zoey, comic book artist and writer, Dion is a slow-burning love story that grows out of friendship but it is so much more. As they collaborate on a project they grow closer and through their communications with each other we find out that Dion is in a very precarious situation. I won’t give away what that situation is but it is gripping. JD Glass uses a very unconventional style – emails, texts, excerpts from stories and much more. And it really works. I was totally hooked and had to keep going until I finished the book. There was no way I could stop. This is an amazing read and I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
I was given this ARC by Ylva Publishing in return for an honest review.
