Welcome: Lee Winter

One of the unmitigated joys of reading fiction is that a good story can immerse you so totally into an unfamiliar setting, you would never otherwise get a chance to see it so close up and personal. Here at Ylva, we love when a manuscript like that comes across our desks. The Red Files, by award-winning Australian journalist and new Ylva author Lee Winter, is one such memorable story.

Ylva will publish The Red Files in late summer 2015. The novel is an intimate look at what happens when the worlds of Washington politics, Hollywood A-listers, and two L.A. journalists hungry for an incredible story collide.

Sparks will fly, careers will be made, and probably a couple of heads will roll when ambitious young journalist Lauren King, who’s dying to rise above her current job covering the foibles of Los Angeles’ rich and famous and break a real story, stumbles upon what might be the scoop of a lifetime–involving a business launch, thirty-four prostitutes, and a missing pallet of pink champagne. But to get the whole story, this knockabout Iowa girl will have to find a way to work with her biggest rival at LA’s Daily Sentinel—the icy, sophisticated ex-Washington political journalist, Catherine Ayers, who’s stuck at the Sentinel after a very humiliating scandal of her own has banished her far from D.C.’s inner sanctums.

If such a warring pair can unravel this incredible story, it will surely bring them fame and fortune. But first, they must find a way not to kill each other.

Full of intrigue, humor, romance, and more than a few plot twists, The Red Files is utterly engaging lesbian fiction that’ll keep you guessing all the way to the last page.

We are very pleased to welcome Lee Winter to the Ylva pack. This is her first novel.
